Have you ever had a moment where you seem to be out of whack with your self or elements of life?
For example, does it ever seem like you don’t have enough time, energy, money, motivation?
Have you ever lost your oomph or mojo?
What if…Â these things were really just a sign that you are out of rapport with yourself?
NLP has a Presupposition (assumption) that says “resistance is a sign of a lack of rapport”, and aren’t these examples simply examples of resistance? (more…)

Do you know that you store time in a certain way? And that way is how your mind codes the past, present and future.
Just like history has a timeline, you have a timeline too. This timeline is like your metaphor and is made up of a variety of submodalities of location, association, size and even sometimes colour. Your time actually marks out where and how you store your past, present and future. And, HOW you store your timeline actually may mean something about your personality! (more…)

Ready, set…..
Stopping, starting, changing, going, not going, staying, not staying…. choices, choice, choices.
Nearly daily we have a choice to make – should I stay or should I go?
This might be about the gym, a relationship, a job, a bar, your house, your clothes – just about anything. So how do we make these decisions?
Some decisions seem like no brainers and they are pretty easy to make. Others sometimes feel like rocket science issues on steroids. (more…)

How often are you truly happy? How often do you think you ‘should’ be happy?
Two interseting questions as I sit here and write… two questions that really open up the possibility for more questions – what is happiness? happy compared to what? Truly happy? Just to name a few of the questions that spring to my mind.Â
You may have heard about this client before – she came to see me many years ago. At that time she was in her mid 70’s and when I asked her what I can help her with she told me I want to be unreasonably happy. Intreagued, I asked her what that meant to her – her answer was simple: to be happy for no reason. I liked that. (more…)

Have you ever felt stuck because you felt you didn’t have a choice about something? Or perhaps stuck because the choice you have are both unsatisfactory?
Every day we are faced with choices. So many choices in fact that it would be virtually impossible to list them all. What to wear, what to eat, what to do…. they are the minor decisions.
In my NLP Coaching practice I often work with people who are ‘stuck’ – and it normally comes down to one of two things: 1) only one option or 2) only two unsatisfactory options. In NLP we have a presupposition that says Choice is better than no choice. Also, NLP suggests that:
If we have only one option we feel cornered, with two options we have a dilemma, but with three or more options we have a choice. (more…)

We’ve obscured our truths by something that isn’t true.
One of the many things that sets us humans apart from other animals is our ability to create, innovate and invent. Yet, this upside can sometimes have a downside.  Within our own innovativeness we’ve all created inventions about ourselves and we wear these inventions. The most powerful of them is the invented separate self.
We separate from our real truth, our authentic self and our congruency. When this happens the ego becomes a fearful, separated entity constantly defending itself, trying to validate and justify itself, to pacify its unworthiness. But we have invented this unworthiness and this separation and we get caught up in it and we begin to create life sabotaging patterns that move out into every area of our lives. I think the most life limiting and life sabotaging patterns are our stories – many of them are not serving you.
What are the stories that work within your life? (more…)
