Can you recall the last time when you had an attitude or feeling that told you – “no matter what, I’m doing this!”, “Come hell or high water, nothing can stop me!”.

Those are mighty good feelings when they come around – and sometimes absolutely imperative to success.

To be able to say: “Yes! I’m all in and you can count one me!”, is often easier to say to someone else than to ourselves. Is that because we have someone else to be accountable to or is it that what we want for ourselves isn’t as important?

My personal guess is that it has something to do with accountability. Because of course, what we want for ourselves is important, yet often I have found that people put a lower priority on a goal if it is only for themselves. Yep, silly, I know!

So today, let’s explore what it takes to get into the state of “I’m all in!”

First, we know that this state is an absolute YES state. Can you recall a time when you had that Absolute Yes! State before? If so – what was going on inside of you? For me personally, when I have this state – it is a heavy dense like feeling in my head (like an unmovable boulder), a light anticipatory flutter in my chest and heart and a ‘full’ feeling in my stomach – like being grounded to the earth. For me – knowing this recipe for my internal physiology is important. It allows me to get into this congruent state if I don’t have it – and it helps me to know when I’m already there.

1. Internal Physiology. Get to know what your recipe for your internal physiology is – memorise it, anchor it, use it!

Do you think what you say to yourself in this Yes state is important? I do. I absolutely believe that if what we are saying on the inside is different to what we actually want then there is going to be somewhat of an uphill climb to get to where we want to go. Again, for me when I am in this state my internal dialogue includes things like “when do I start?”, “where to from now”, “this is good”.

2. Internal Dialogue. What do you say to yourself when you are in the ‘Yes’ state? How is it different to when you are in the ‘maybe’ or ‘no’ state?

Constantly I’m talking about desire… what do you want. Now, let me shift gears slightly and ask the question that is rarely asked in NLPland – WHY do you want this. Without a good ‘WHY’ there can be a huge lack of motivation. Absolutely, I’d like to always fly FIRST CLASS… yet, I don’t have a good answer for myself about WHY I should do that. Sure, I’d like to keep my home clean and tidy all the time, yet when I ask myself ‘why’ I don’t have a good answer; therefore its not very motivating. However – I want to be healthy and keep fit. I have plenty of WHY’s for that!  I love to learn and express my learning to others, and I can think of sooo many good reasons for that.

3. Find your Why. As your self this question: “why do I want X” – write down all of the answers you can come up with. Then, look at that list and decide if those are your answers or someone else’s. They have to be yours to be truly motivating!

There you go – your recipe for getting into that mode. I know from my own experience that when I have the attitude and complete recipe for this state anything, ANYTHING is possible!

Knowing that, don’t you owe it to yourself to jump into life with both feet and go for it? Don’t hold back – if you want it, go for it!

Next time you think of that thing you want to do, next time someone asks you to get out of your house just use these simple words: I’m All In!
